Greetings Families Welcome Back Everyone! I am so excited for the new school year! We have some wonderful programs and new faces joining us. I know it is going to be a fantastic year. To get the year rolling here is some important information:
Seniors - Please continue to check out my scholarship file outside my office for new and available scholarships. Apply to as many as you can!
As we turn the corner to the end of the year, students 6-12 can expect to meet with me to check in and plan their schedules for the upcoming year. I will do my best to help them get the courses they are looking for into their schedules.
Transition meetings for 6th and 8th-grade students will be coming up, dates TBD. Please take a moment to view the Middle School Transition Slide Show below.
Finally, if anyone is interested in being a member of the Minerva Counseling Advisory Council I welcome you to reach out to me. This council meets 2 times a year to review how the school counselor meets the needs of students and receives essential community feedback.

How to Apply for NYS 2024 Scholarship for Academic Excellence
2024 NYSED Scholarship for Academic Excellence
The New York State Education Department announced its memorandum for the 2024 Scholarships for Academic Excellence (SAE). “Pending the appropriation of State funds during the 2024 session of the New York State Legislature, 8,000 Scholarships for Academic Excellence will be awarded to the top students graduating from New York State high schools in June 2024.”

Minerva Central School may nominate 2 students for a $1500 and $500 scholarship. The criteria for determining scholarship nominations is based on Class Rank at the conclusion of students’ Junior year.
