In ELA, students learned how to write an opinion paragraph and learned how to support their opinions. They also learned how to identify the main purpose and how to include dialogue in their writing. They all worked so hard and have shown amazing growth and perseverance.
In science class, we worked through our plant adventures unit and we are currently working through our work of water lessons. We looked at why rivers flow and we even investigated how some beaches have colorful sand. Do you know where the sand comes from? It was so much fun!
In social studies, we looked at how different countries celebrate Christmas around the world. Additionally, we talked about what resolutions were and set some pretty awesome goals for the year. We are also working on reinforcing and building character traits each month. November was perseverance and December we worked on empathy. This month we are learning all about tolerance.
In Math, students worked so hard and learned how to count coins and dollars. They have learned how to tell time as well. I am so proud of how much progress everyone is making in 2nd grade and how hard they all are working!
