It has been a busy school year so far in fourth grade! Students have been engaged in a variety of texts in reading, practicing informational, narrative, and opinion writing, studying the geography of New York State in social studies, multiplying and dividing in math, and covering topics in life and earth sciences. The fourth graders continue to develop their close reading skills, where they are able to “dive deep” into what a text says and provide details they find to support their answers. Up next in reading, the fourth graders will be immersed in the history of four different Native American nations, which will tie into our studies of New York State and westward expansion.
